The writing below came to me in the last hour from friends in ministry in Honduras. It was written by the daughter of their national leader, … , whose husband was former ambassador for Honduras to Spain and US as well as member of the Honduran parliament for years.
“Thank you very much for your concern. I think reaching a situation such as this one is never entirely good, but given the circumstances we were being subject to this has been the best thing that could have happened to our nation.
As usual, international news are completely uninformed at the beggining and it will take some time to clear the situation, but we
pray this will be soones than later. The truth is, our former president was ready to turn our country over to Chavez this Sunday,
had he not been shipped out.
He had broken the law so many times the executive had taken an anarchic position towards everyhting, claiming they spoke for “the
people” first, but in his last public appearances he claimed to be the new Messiah and was here to establish a New Kingdom, therefore he spoke in he name of God. This, of course, was the beginning of his end.
Behind all show and fanfare, he turned our country into one big crime scene when he opened its doors to drug lords and has trampled over our Constitution so many times Congress had to cut the list short to impeach him yesterday. We had Venezuelan airplanes landing almost every day with shipments of cocaine and dollars.
The US DEA has helped Honduran authorities shoot down maybe 5 planes all filled with cocaine and with venezuelan flags, but these are only small efforts compared to what is coming thru. We have been all over Honduras meeting farmers and have personally witnessed the impact open drug trafficking has had in the country. They have taken absolute control of vast areas of productive land in the rural areas, forcing producers to sell their only land plot “or else”. Others allow them to pass thru on order to keep their properties.
He has lied so many times to the international community its imposible to explain to you all that hes done, but the last attempt to destroy the country was to carry out this “poll” he claimed “non binding”. Yet THANK GOD someone got a hold of the presidential decreet before he published it (making it official) and he had added the poll to be BINDING and to be accepted without a discussion. This was the issue that forced the DA to act immediately on saturday evening.
The question in his poll was “Do you think we ask the people if we should convey a new National Constitutive Assembly that will abolish the current constitution and draft a new one?
Our constituion, and every constitution in the world, has reform procedures when the people decide to change part of it. Honduras has ONE articule that cannot be reformed, and that is one that declares which articles cannot be subject to reform. These are 7 articles that define our type of government, our nations name, our territory and our presindential term and prohibition for reelection. EVERYTHING ELSE (97%)IS SUBJECT TO REFORM. He didnt accept this. He had a new Constitution that allowed him to remain indefinetly, to change the countrys name to “Republica Morazanica de Honduras” (imitating Republica Bolivariana de Venezuela”)and even change the currencies name to MORAZAN.
He already had Cuban, venezuelan and Nicaraguan advisors in the “white House”, in fact, the presidential guard was entirely venezuelan already, the people you see on tv on the streets supporting his return ARE NOT HONDURAN BUT NICARAGUAN. He had plans to change the territory on the seaborder side with Colombia, allowing Venezuela to have a sea border with Honduras. (Colombia has a border issue with Venezuela at the International Justice Courts.)
This is the same as if Obama asked the american people, do you think we should abolish the US COnstitution? Would the authorities allow this?
The intent to abolish the WHOLE CONSTITUTION IS ILLEGAL IN ANY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD BECAUSE IT MEANS TO OVERTHROW THE CURRENT RULE OF LAW, it is absolutely insane to think he can do this!
So the SUpreme court declared this poll ILLEGAL and all other government institutions such as National District Attorney, Supreme
Electoral Courts, Congress, National Supreme Court, EVERY SINGLE government instition (EXCEPT the executive OF COURSE) declared it illegal and THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY warned Zelaya to stopt this craziness because any atempt to overthrow the constitution was a crime of treason and he would be put in jail. But he didnt stop. So The district attorney accused him, the courts ruled and the order to detain him was issued. Yet they chose to send him away to C Rica to take Chavez control out of the country.
Later that evening Congress received the report on the presidents crimes against national security and unanimously removed his from his post on Constitutional grounds. Thank GOD our ARMED FORCES DID NOT OBEY ZELAYAS ORDERS TO CARRY OUT THE POLL AND OVERTHROW THE OTHER TWO POWERS ON THE GROUNDS THAT NO CIVIL NOR MILITARY AUTHORITY IS OBLIGATED TO FOLLOW ILLEGAL ORDERS, and SAVED our country from this terrifying destiny Zelaya had planned for us. The are now considered heroes in our nation.
Honduras has always been geografically strategic for the US because we have 3 borders and acces to both seas and CHAVEZ wanted us. Good thing our Lord listed to 8 million prayer of a poverty stricken country.
PLEASE LET THE WORLD KNOW THIS HAS BEEN GODS RESCUE OF A POOR AND DEVASTATED NATION THAT HAD FALLEN INTO THE HANDS OF A DEMENTIAL GROUP OF PEOPLE CONTROLED BY CHAVEZ. THIS WAS NOT A CUE, OUR PRESIDENT WAS
REMOVED FROM HIS POST CONSTITUTIONALLY, AND 90% HONDURANS ARE RELIEVED TO GET OUR COUNTRY BACK.
WE ARE NOW UNDER THREAT OF INVASION BY CHAVEZ AND HIS ALBA INITIATIVE. I GOT A CALL AS I WRITE THIS THAT ZELAYA PLANS TO COME INTO THE COUNTRY TOMORROW TO OVERTHROW THE NEW CONSTITUTIONAL PRESIDENT, BUT
HES SUPPOSED TO APPEAR AT A UN HEARING TOMORROW.
I trust out authorities have the situation under control and that the international community will learn the truth and change their position.
GOD IS IN CONTROL AND NOW THAT THIS LUNATIC IS GONE I AM ABSOLUTELY SURE OUR PEOPLE WILL BE OK.
